Opportunities
Garden Maintenance
The primary purpose of our garden is to feed the community – at least 50% of our harvest is delivered to local food pantries. We operate under a “communal” gardening method. That means, rather than each gardener being responsible for one plot, that all gardeners grow in all the plots collectively.
In the early Spring, we fix what needs to be fixed prior to the growing season, weed and till the beds and mulch each bed. During growing season, we plant, water, maintain, weed and harvest. At the end of the season in fall, we “close up the beds” – remove dead plant material, weed and cover the beds for winter.
Driving
We are also in need of people to pick up produce, drive it to our donation locations and collect a receipt/record of donation. You should have your own vehicle and vehicle insurance, plus a valid driver’s license. As a volunteer, you release Wesley Church from liability when driving for us.
Perks:
Our garden offers “take what you need” produce. If you are assisting us with garden preparation and maintenance, you may bring whatever you like for your immediate family at no cost.
Volunteers in middle school, high school or college can receive community service hours for their time and effort.

We Welcome:
